Albemarle Plantation and Oriental, NC

From Edenton we cruised the short distance to Albemarle Plantation.  This is a golf community on the Albemarle Sound.  In addition to the golf course, they have a pool, community center, and clubhouse that serves meals several days a week.  There is a small club house at the marina that does pizzas, salads, and sandwiches on the nights the main club house is closed.  We stayed 3 nights here.  Keith played golf several times and we played tennis one morning.  Everyone was very friendly and it was a great stop.  They are offering some wonderful deals for boaters to come and spend several days on  the way south for the winter.

From Albemarle Plantation we went to Belhaven just for an overnight and then on to Oriental, NC.  We arrived in Oriental on Thursday October 3rd.   There was a music festival in Oriental Friday and Saturday October 4th and 5th.  Keith and I met up with 3 other couples, good friends of ours from New Bern that came for the festival as well.

We had a great time with our friends at the festival.  Oriental put on a wonderful weekend.  From Oriental we are heading up the Neuse River to New Bern, NC for several weeks.
