Anchored at Heywood Island

On Saturday August 11th we left Killarney and headed to an anchorage in a cove of Heywood Island.  This was a nice spot with several small islands around the larger Heywood and multiple inlets and coves around to kayak and fish.  Also now that we are in the North Channel, there are mountains that can be seen.

Mountains in the distance

There were several boats in the anchorage both Saturday and Sunday evenings with us

Some views of the area around our anchorage
The water is so clear I can't get over it

I had an attempted hitch-hiker

The fishing was not so good.  Captain Keith did not have many bites, however the one that did bite was a doozie.

Captain Keith's record Northern Pike

This Northern weighed in at 9 pounds and was 33 inches (fishey, fishey)

Guess what's for dinner

We got dinner for both of us as well as two nice fillets I vaccume sealed and put in the freezer.  Good times.

Tomorrow we will leave for Baie Fine.  This is one of the largest freshwater fjords in the world and is surrounded by Canadian quart mountains.  It should be a wonderful few days.  We hope to spend 3 nights anchored there.  We will not have any phone or internet service in the fjord so I won't be able to post until we arrive in Little Current which will probably be over the weekend.  Stay tuned.
