Dave and Keith played horseshoes with Pengi officiating
One day Dave, Keith, and I drove to Hobucken to pick up fresh shrimp.
The seafood place in Hobucken where we purchased the fresh shrimp has dredge material delivered from a nearby phospate mine that they use as fill for their parking lot. This ground is known to have fossils and other treasures in it and we dug around in it for a bit while there. It is like being an amateur archeologist.
Keith looking for treasure
We were all very lucky and found multiple fossilized shark's teeth. Here is Keith and my finds.
Some of the teeth were really a good size
We also had a dinner the night before we went back to Florida on Dr. Mike's boat to honor Keith's birthday. Here are some of us on the dock. Left to right........... me, Keith, Janet, Dave, Chris, and Dr. Mike. Not in the picture are Tracey and Debbie who are on the boat taking pictures of us.
It was so good to get to see everyone and feel like we got a little break from boat chores. We feel refreshed and are ready to make the push north. Ocracoke will be opening up shortly so our goal is to get there June 1st. We should be on the move up the Intracoastal Waterway on Friday, May 15th.
