First Week in Ocracoke

So just to give everyone a quick update on our first week in Ocracoke.  The weather, as is common in the spring has been a mixed bag.  Some days are sunny and mild while others can be quite windy and cool.  There are always some good sunsets, however.

The ferries come and go regularly and they are beginning to have more people on them each day as the season gets going.

We rode out to the beach with our friend Russ and Michelle.  I know I am biased, but the beaches here are some of the best of all we have seen in our travels.  Wide beaches with clean sand and lots of shells.  We can not wait to hopefully get to do some exploring on Portsmouth Island during this coming week.

Russ and Michelle also adopted a new dog.  Millie is a 1 1/2 year old female lab and she is a sweetie.

We also have other friends arriving by boat from New Bern this week.  Dave and Janet on "Sequel" got in on Saturday the 13th.

Now a proper party can get going I am sure.  With everyone here for several days we have some things planned.  There will be a cook-out at Russ and Michelle's Monday and some beach exploring is also on the agenda for this coming week.  Can't wait!  Stay tuned.
